Currently, there are 18 overseas graduate students studying at School of Food and Biological Engineering. They come from Ghana, Cameroon, Sudan, Nepal, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kyrgyzstan.
In order to make overseas students adapt into a relaxed academic environment, an orientation meeting about research and graduation requirements was organized for the overseas students on 31th,Dec., 2015. Its purpose is to promote cultural exchanges between China and other countries, which can help students adjust well into the beautiful Jiangsu University.
At the seminar, Prof. Ma Haile, the Dean of the School of Food and Biological Engineering, introduced our school, and
distribute FBE brochure. Prof. Huang Xingyi, vice Dean, made a presentation entitled Graduate Student Training Program.
The content of the presentation included the Program and code, Period of study and Credit Requirements, Coursework and
Examinations, Dissertation Schedule, Dissertation Design and Research Approval, Assessment of Seminars, Regulations on
publishing academic papers, Regulations on publishing academic papers, checkup and external assessment Comments,
Dissertation, Defense, Degree Evaluation, etc. Then, our new overseas students’ supervisors introduced themselves and
conveyed their ideas of education; the last one, our freshmen showed themselves.
When this activity came to the end, we took pictures just like a warm family. This event had free and flexible conventional
forms of activity and achieved good results.
